The Halle Berry Neuron

I've been hearing lately about a neuroscience study that found that certain neurons are reserved for recognizing certain people. Like Halle Berry. And that neuron fires whenever you see a picture of her, whether it be a normal picture of her, a picture of her in her cat suit, or just the text of her name. It's the Halle Berry neuron.

And you have one for Jennifer Aniston, and for Lindsay Lohan, and for Brad Pitt, and Tom Cruise, and Meg Ryan, and George Clooney [swoon], and probably even Juliana Marguiles and Herminone Granger. And if you're like me, and you watched a lot of ER when Carol and Doug were together, the Juliana Marguiles neuron is probably linked to the George Clooney neuron, and the George Clooney neuron is linked to the Brad Pitt neuron, and those are all linked to the other 9 members of the Ocean's 11 team. Just consider how much neuronal firing goes on when you watch a movie like that! Phew. It makes me tired just thinking about it.
