Who's Yehoodi?

While I was trying to sleep this weekend (in the hotel lobby), I heard someone say, "Hey, there's Manu, he's probably doing his Yehoodi podcast." Yehoodi Podcast? I know this won't be interesting to pretty much anyone who reads this, and I probably won't even subscribe to it, since I'm not THAT into lindy hop. But I'm trying it out.

It's mostly Manu and Slick Rick talking about things like whether the Derby is going to close, and interviewing people like Peter Strom, and basically talking about lindy hop like nobody but lindy hoppers can do.

But if you have two minutes, download the Nov. 15 episode, and listen to Mario's comments on swivels. It's right at the beginning, in the first minute. He explains the sole reason we dance.

And now that I've said that, you probably won't be interested, and you probably shouldn't even listen. Oh well.

  1. Swing people scare me. Not, like, in a mean way-- I mean, I feel fear when I'm around them. I don't know why. It's a personal failing.

  2. Also, my mind nearly broke just now, as I know "Slick Rick" only as a foul-mouthed rapper, ca. 1988, and the image of him engaged in this 'lindy hop' you speak of is...distressing, to say the least.
