My iPod broke again.

I know this is hard to believe, but after less than three months of active duty, my replacement iPod has failed. Same problem as before. I swear, I didn't do anything different from normal usage.

This time the replacement-getting was a little tougher because apparently they didn't automatically apply my old AppleCare coverage from the first broken iPod to the second broken iPod. Plus, I had to convince them that although the second broken iPod was for some reason registered under my dad's name, I was the actual owner. So that was a few fun phone calls.

In order to get around the shipping time (weekend=yuck) to get a replacement, I spent three hours in my local Apple store this morning (there was a line), after which time the "genius" on staff told me that actually, no, it looks like the AppleCare switch didn't happen. I called AppleCare again, the guy on the phone said, "Yeah it does," and I made the geniuses talk to each other. Ten minutes later, I had my third iPod photo. I have to call on Monday to make sure the AppleCare gets switched to this one.

    I tried shit like that when replacing backpacks on the trail. Except that I was carrying a load heavier than its rating, and I made exchanges at places that I did not buy it. I had no warranty either. Well. Um. So go you!
