I recently discovered Miranda July through the iTunes Meet the Author podcast. I wasn't even really paying attention to it, and I think I was about to skip the end, when I realized I liked her. I don't think it was what she was saying, but more how she approached it. I'm not sure how to explain it, but her website gives you a good idea of what she's about.
She's a filmmaker, performance artist, and writer. When I happened to be in the bookstore a few days ago, I decided I should buy her book. It's short stories, and they're pretty good. I also found a program at iTunes U (Berkeley Arts and Humanities) that I guess was a "lecture" that she gave there, called "Ten True Things". But it's not a lecture. She basically had some ideas of things to do with the audience, and she did them. I kinda wish I had been there.
